Darlene Joyce Sullivan, 89, of Olney, Illinois, passed away at 7:58 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. She was born on January 27, 1936, in Valley Falls, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest Pierce and Viola Mae (Kilgore) Williams. She was a graduate of Oskaloosa High School in Kansas. Darlene was a resident of Illinois from 1959-2025 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olney, Illinois. She was a homemaker and the church secretary. She enjoyed sewing, NASCAR and baseball. Darlene married Ronald C. Sullivan on August 27, 1959, in Oskaloosa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2019. She is survived by her sons, Derek (Becky) Sullivan of Batesville, Indiana and Cory (Marcia) Sullivan of Laurinburg, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald; sister, Kathy Edmondson and brother, Ernest Williams. Following Darlene's wishes she will be cremated and there will be no service or visitation. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Olney, Illinois through the funeral home.
