Robert Alan Coons, 59, of Greensburg, passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at his residence. He was born on January 17, 1964, in Beech Grove, the son of Kenneth Eugene and Mary Louise (Beikman) Coons and was raised by Judith (Beikman) Hall. He had resided most of his life in Greensburg and had graduated from Greensburg High School in 1983. He was an auto body repairman for many different companies. Robert was a member of the Greensburg American Legion #129 and the Eagles Lodge #927 in Greensburg. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards. He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his stepdaughters, Jessica (Jamie) Ebbing of Hayden and Crystal (John) Riley of Westport; his sisters, Cynthia (Michael) Watts of Columbus, Debbie (Donald) Martin of Greensburg, Helen Sample (Dale Eccles) of Greensburg, and Fenisha (Robin) Young of Westport; his brothers, Kenneth Lee (Vickie Cooper) Coons of Greensburg, George Anthony (Becky) Coons of Midlothian, VA and James McNulty of Westport. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Craig Allen Coons and his sister, Janice Hoover. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with military services to follow. Pastor Steve Bell will be officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association through the funeral home.
