Beverly J. Ferris, 90 of Westport, passed away at 4:32 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the residence of her granddaughter in Letts. She was born in Hendricks County on January 22, 1933, the daughter of Wendell L. & Helen Marie (Ottinger) Smith. She graduated from Plainfield High School and has lived most of her life in Decatur County. She was a member of a Decatur County Home Economics Club, the Swinging Swayers Square Dance Club and was a Brownie troop and 4-H leader. She enjoyed sewing and horses. She married Kenneth H. Ferris on January 1, 1955, in Zionsville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2005. She is survived by her children, Mickey (Larry) Allen, Rockey (Tom) Grider both of Greensburg, Kim (Paul) Kreutzjans of North Vernon, Toby (Sarah) Ferris of Tacoma, Washington and Wendy (Joe) Sharp of Westport; her sisters, Doris Shoemaker of Whitestown, and Linda Cope of Brownsburg; her brother, Jack (Sue) Smith of Noblesville; her twenty four grandchildren; her twenty great grandchildren and her seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Kenneth Dale Ferris; her brother, Larry Smith and great granddaughter, Jaimie Andrea Allen. Following her wishes, Beverly will be cremated, and burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery at later date. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
