Toby Dean Miller, 74, of Paulding, Ohio, passed away at 3:57 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on February 19, 1949, in Huntington, Indiana, the son of Homer & Thelma Jeanette (Andrews) Miller. He was a minister since 1978 with the Church of Christ. He was a member of the Moose Lodge at Defiance, Ohio. Toby enjoyed fishing, dancing, traveling, doing mission work, and had traveled to Africa and England. He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam Era. "Semper Fi" He married Harriett Lucille Beggs on May 23, 1971, in Greensburg and she preceded him in death on July 4, 2019. Survivors include his daughter, Becky Verfaillie of Paulding, Ohio; his sister, Peggy (John) Morrison of Warren, Indiana; grandchildren, Chantz Verfaillie and Macyn Krill of Pauling, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joe Miller; brother, James Miller, and grandson, Deston Verfaillie. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Union Presbyterian Cemetery with David Goyings officiating. The Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport has been entrusted with handling the funeral arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice through the funeral home.
