Lester W. Powers, 56, of Westport, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving wife and family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 27, 1963 in Greensburg, the son of Lester Wayne & Elsie Faye (Parker) Powers. Lester was a lifelong resident of Decatur County. He enjoyed wildlife and having cookouts with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Diane Powers of Westport. His children; Ashlie Powers, Mark (Candi) Powers, and Kim Powers. Also surviving are stepchildren Rachel (Prentice) Moore and Daniel Hilligoss. 13 grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Alice Lynch; brother, Roger Powers; his beloved pets, Lightning and Butterbean. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jerry Powers, Charles Powers, and Grover Powers. The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and love they have graciously given. Following Lester's wishes he will be cremated and his cremains will be placed at the Rodney Separate Baptist Cemetery at a later date. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services.
