Brian Edward Hersley, 47, of Westport, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. due to an auto accident south of Bloomington. He was born on December 23, 1975, in Greensburg, the son of Larry Dale Sr. and Florence (Gould) Hersley. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County. He worked with his dad at H & H Masonry and after his dad's death, he continued the name in his business of H & H Express. He also worked at Faurecia for 12 years. Brian enjoyed fishing, hunting, The Pittsburg Steelers, softball, riding his Harley and spending time with his family and friends. Brian's father sponsored his softball team, H & H Masonry, the team he coached and played on for many years. He brought a smile and laughter to everyone. He is survived by his wife, Chasity Davis of Westport; his mother, Florence Hersley of Greensburg; his sons, Jordan Thomas Neal, and Brayden Andrew Neal both of Westport; his sisters, Cheriee (Vernon) Imel, Tammy (Steve) Hankins and Angie (Brad) Hughes all of Greensburg; his brother, Larry Dale (Jill) Hersley, Jr. of Millhousen; his grandmother, Evelyn Spoonamore of Westport; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dale Hersley, Sr.; his grandparents, Floyd & Ruth Hersley, Cecil & Betty Gould and grandfather, Thomas Spoonamore. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Glenn Seaman and Rev. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
