David E. Mozingo, 72, of Westport, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 due to an accident on his family farm in Jennings County. He was born on July 13, 1950 in Greensburg, the son of Carl E. & Birdie L. (Surface) Mozingo. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur, Jennings & Bartholomew County's and was a 1968 graduate of Jennings County High School. He retired from Cummins Engine Company in 2000 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church. David enjoyed spending time outdoors working at the farm, trail riding and splitting wood. He married Linda A. Eden on June 20, 1988 in Greensburg and she survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Bailey Anne Mozingo of Westport; a brother, Larry D. (Dee) Mozingo of North Vernon and a niece, Christina (Ben) Mozingo-Fitzgerald of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Connie Barr officiating. According to David's wishes he will be cremated after the service. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics Indiana or Riley Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
