Larry R. Cunningham, 81, of Westport, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. He was born on March 13, 1941 in Anderson, the son of Chesley Addison and Viva Dee (Roberson) Cunningham. He was a lifelong resident of Westport and had graduated from Sand Creek High School in 1959. Larry retired from Cummins Engine Company after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Westport Baptist Church, National Champion Skeet Shooter, Boy Scout Leader and lifetime member of NRA. He enjoyed go-cart racing, avid sports fan of basketball, baseball and golf. He was a life mentor and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a Veteran having served with the U.S. Air Force. He married Linda L. Gholson on November 26, 1961 at the Westport Baptist Church and she survives. Other survivors include his sons, Brian (Aimee) Cunningham and Darin (Angela) Cunningham both of Westport; his sisters, Coreta Porter of Columbus and Sandi (Steve) Billieu of Westport; his brothers, C. A. "Bud" (Marilyn) Cunningham and William W. "Bill" (Linda) Cunningham both of Westport; his grandchildren, Chelsea (Tim) Ellington, Emily (Patrick) Baltus, Betsy (Dalton) Watts, Kyle (Abby) Cunningham, Jessica Cunningham (Dillon), Kaleb Cunningham, Kennedy Cunningham and his 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Scotty "Pro" Cunningham. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Bickers officiating. The burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery with military graveside rites. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
