Iva Mary Anne Curly Dummich, 84, of Greensburg, passed away at 10:10 A.M. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Morning Breeze Healthcare Center in Greensburg. She was born on June 26, 1937 in Bath, New York the daughter of Frank William & Jessie Beatrice (Dean) Cary. She had been a resident of Greensburg since 1992. She owned the little white house on the corner of East and Walnut Streets. She lived her last years at Morning Breeze Retirement Community. She was a 1956 graduate of Haverling High School in Bath, New York. She worked in Food Service at Decatur County Memorial Hospital for more than 10 years and then as a volunteer at the Welcome Desk. She also volunteered at Hickory Creek Nursing Home. Prior to moving to Indiana, she worked in many school cafeterias. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg, the Thankful Hearts Sunday School Class and various church groups throughout the years. She especially loved her Emmaus Walks starting those with the de Colores group while living in Corpus Christi, Texas. Curly loved homemaking, crafting and flower gardening. You may remember her beautiful daffodils each spring and amazing summer roses at the house on East Street. She was an active member of the Homemaking Club and she submitted crafts to the Decatur County Fair each year. She won several awards for her homemade Christmas stockings. She has made one for every member of her family and she has left each of us with a beautiful handcrafted legacy. She married Henry Morse on November 3, 1956. She married Russell R. Dummich, Sr. on January 16, 1999 in Greensburg. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2009. Survivors include her daughters, Cary (James) Troutman of Westport, Penny (Danny) Bowen of Georgetown, Kentucky and Kelly (John) Jackson of Austin, Texas; her sister, Elizabeth (Karl) Ralston of Bath, New York; grandchildren, Heather (Roy) Troutman Williams, James C. (Jennie) Troutman, Betsy (Patrick) Schwering, Rachael (Josh) Danforth, Jesse (Kirsten) Troutman, Jeremy (Rachel) Troutman, Katie (Andrew) Lecher, Brandon (Christa) Bowen, Andrea (Dale) Bowen McClure, Haley Jackson; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell R. Dummich, Sr.; brothers, Dean Cary & Tommy Cary and sister, Nellie Holden. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Cliff Bunch officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24 from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greensburg Area Emmaus Walk or The Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
