Marie Franklin, 73, of Westport, passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1948 in Ten Mile, Tennessee the daughter of James William and Bonnie (Reno) Broglin. She was born and raised in Tennessee and had been a resident of Decatur County since 1966. She attended Rodney Separate Baptist Church. Marie enjoyed doing puzzles, word searches and painting. She married David A. Franklin on October 21, 1967 in Greensburg and he survives. Other survivors include her daughters, Vicky Hess of Rising Sun, Tina Marie (Mike) Wyatt of Florida and Stephany L. Franklin of New Albany; sons, John D. Franklin and James A. Franklin both of Westport; sister, Wanda Faye Nicolet of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, William (Christine) Broglin of Westport and granddaughter, Tianna Hess. She was preceded her in death by her father. Following Marie's wishes she will be cremated. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
