William T. Wren, 83, of Westport, passed away at 11:19 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at his residence. He was born on July 15, 1938 in Madison, the son of James & Stella (Mack) Wren. William was born and raised in Madison and has been a Westport resident since 1972. He had graduated from Milton High School. He had retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 2000 with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Community Church in Osgood. William enjoyed woodworking, stain glass, fishing, electronics technology and watching sports. He has served in the Indiana Army Reserve. He married Phyllis R. Austin on August 16, 1959 in Everton, Indiana. She preceded him in death on August 13, 2021. Survivors include his daughter, Connie (Joe) Holley of Pleasanton, Texas; his son, William Allen Wren of Westport; his sister, Judy (Wayne) Miller of Dallas, Texas; his 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and grandson, Benjamin Thomas Wren. The funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
