Douglas Elwood Parry, 68, of Greensburg, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his residence. He was born on March 19, 1953 in Newton, New Jersey, the son of Ralph J. and Margaret E. (Crook) Parry. Doug enjoyed hunting, woodworking and gardening. He was a veteran having served with the US Navy. He married Barbara Elliott in Shelbyville on October 24, 1987. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2020. Survivors include step daughter, Nancy Mae (England) Ahearn of Sellersburg; step sons, Jerry L. England of Greensburg, Tony M. England of Indianapolis and Timothy L. England of Greensburg; his sister, Wendy Parry Keesler of Virginia; his brothers, Robert Gearhart of Washington, Steve Parry of Sussex, New Jersey, Walter Parry of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Joel Parry of Virginia and James Parry of Scranton, Pennsylvania; his six step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with military rites. Entombment will occur at a later date at the Mt Aerie Cemetery. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are recommended.
