Rachel Maxwell, 44, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 9, 2021. Rachel (Gasper) Maxwell was born on July 3, 1977 to Timothy Lee Gasper and Lisa Ann (Sutton) Lannerd in New Castle, Indiana. She grew up as an Army brat, living in Germany, North Carolina, and Colorado. Rachel graduated from Knightstown High School in 1995. She then went on to graduate from The Salon Professional Academy in Anderson in 2012. She loved helping women feel beautiful, especially working with big curly hair. With her deep Appalachian roots, she loved working with herbs, and was an herbalist at Good Earth. She had recently started the journey of making her dream come true, owning her own business, Tangled Roots. In 2009, Rachel met Brandon Maxwell, and then married in 2011. Rachel would often say her favorite place to be was wherever Brandon was. In addition to Rachel's daughters Emma, Lily and Carrie, they went on to have Benjamin and Dylan together to complete the Maxwell Family. In her own words, Rachel was an herbalist, free-thinker, lover, freedom fighter, wanderer, wonderer, feminist, dreaming pragmatist, believer in hope, kitchen dancer, lover of the messy real, adventurer, fringe-dweller, logophile, shopper, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Rachel was preceded in death by her grandfathers; William Gasper and Lawrence Sutton. She is survived by her husband, Brandon Maxwell, and her 5 children; Emma, Lily, Carrie, Benjamin, and Dylan. Her father Timothy L. (Nicole) Gasper and mother Lisa (Dennis) Lannerd. Her siblings; William Timothy (Lauren) Gasper and Tiffany (Raymond) Perkins. Her grandmothers: Dorothy Gasper and Dorothy Sutton. Nieces and nephews: Harmony, Christian, and Connor Gasper and Madalynn and Elena Perkins. Best Friend, Carrie Campbell. Rachel's Celebration of Life will be held at Carthage Community Church in Carthage, IN from 4-8:00 pm. on Monday, November 15, 2021. Flowers may be delivered to 511 E. 2nd St, Carthage, IN 46115.
