Mark A. Lewis, 59, of Batesville, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at his residence. He was born on July 26, 1961 in Greensburg, the son of Paul and Frances (Roberts) Lewis. Mark was raised in Burney and had resided in Batesville for the past 6 years. He graduated from South Decatur High School in 1979. He enjoyed spending time with his family, antiquing, sports (especially Purdue), playing poker and going to the zoo. He married Tara L. Walke on July 1, 2020 in Batesville, and she survives. Other survivors include his mother, Frances Lewis of Greensburg; sons, Nathan (Lindsey) Lewis and Brad Lewis both of Greensburg; sisters, Suzie (Bob) Studler of Greensburg, Cindy (Woody) Stotsenburg of Westport, Kim (Gary) Butts of Evansville; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Ambrose and Cynthia Mae Roberts and Elmer and Wilma Lewis. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Terry Allen and Pastor Dave DeLine officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. This is a celebration of Mark's life, please dress casual and comfortable. The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
