Michael Irvin "Big Mike" Keihn, Sr., 66, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at the Morning Breeze Nursing Home on September 18, 2020 and went to be with his Lord and Savior. Mike was born On March 3, 1954 in Greensburg. He is survived by his wife, Patricia K. (Canada) Keihn; mother, Aline L. Keihn; children, Annette L. White, Michael I. Keihn, Jr., Gary M. Keihn; brother, George (Celia), Jack (Krista), Clifford (Cindy) Keihn; sisters, Linda Hammil, Judy Fleenor, Debbie Ogden, Ethel (Russell)Campbell, Mabel (Bubby)Wilson, and Mary Schmucker. He was an amazing Pappy to his grandkids; Eithan and Jasper Keihn, Tristin Oliphant, Kiley Buchanan, Shya Kelly, Summer and Savannah Hacker and 3 great grandkids. Mike was preceded in death by father, Irvin M. Keihn; his former wife, Patricia A. (Martin) Keihn; sisters, Annette Keihn, Nancy Nash; brother, Danny Keihn. Mike spent his life hunting, fishing and trapping and became a taxidermist so he could stuff his own trophies. Later on, he began making steel knife blades and used deer antlers for a bone handle. He started teaching his grandchildren to follow in his footsteps as they learned his trade. He had a passion for cooking however you never really knew what you were eating but I think that's the part that brought everyone back for more. He was definitely a talker and story teller you never really knew when he was making it up on the fly. That's what made him who he was nobody seemed to mind, everyone just listened and you could see the joy in his eyes as he kept talking. Following his wishes, Mike will be cremated. There will be gathering for a time of visitation with family and friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
