Erika Renee Calvert, 20, of Columbus, passed away at 8:14 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis as a result of an auto accident. She was born on April 10, 2000 in Greensburg, the daughter of Kevin D. Calvert and Amanda Kay (Fugate) Krebbs. Erika was raised in Columbus and graduated from Columbus Signature Academy in 2018. She enjoyed playing rugby and writing poems. She married Mark A. Johns on July 5, 2019 in Columbus, and he survives. Other survivors include her father, Kevin D. (Vester) Calvert of Columbus; mother, Amanda Kay (Stephen) Krebbs of Columbus; brothers, Cristian Calvert and Ian Calvert both of Columbus; grandmother, Merri (William) Fox of Columbus; grandfather, Adam Fugate of Greensburg; great grandmother, Marilyn Burton of Westport and loved by several cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Annette Johns; grandparents, Sarah Myers, Harry Hempstead, Billy Fugate and Chester Burton; an aunt, Debbie Hempstead and uncle, Greg Hempstead. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Charles Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. We ask visitors to follow social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Love Chapel in Columbus.
