Joseph Thomas Fuentes, 89, of Bedford, passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on June 26, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Cress & Louise (Birri) Fuentes. He graduated from Greensburg High School in 1948 and was a Veteran having served with the US Navy. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Conkright of Crawfordsville, Nancy Schwering of Milroy, Carolyn Fuentes of Greensburg, Tonya (Eddie) Gatewood of Westport; his son, Joseph D. Fuentes of St. Paul; his sisters, Joan Hobson of Batavia, Ohio, Elaine Tingle of Lawrenceburg, Ramona Manlief of Aurora, Nancy Knopf of Milan, Rose Brewer of Baldwin, Florida; his brother, Ralph Fuentes of Toms River, New Jersey, David Fuentes of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Cress Fuentes and sister, Louise Weisinger-Vermiere. A private graveside service will conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the Westport Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites. Rev. Connie Barr will be officiating. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the services. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Diabetes Association.
