Robert O. Herrmann, 95, of Greensburg, passed away at 11:14 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. He was born on May 23, 1924 in Metamora, the son of Walter Peter & Maude Marie Herrmann. He was born and raised in Metamora and had resided in Greensburg since 1967. Robert had retired from BCA-Federal Mogul in 1995. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Rushville. He enjoyed visiting people in the nursing home, making people laugh, woodworking and at the age of 90 skydived. He married Rosa D. Huegel on December 23, 1944 and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2010. Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Terry) Glover of Westport; his sons, James R. Herrmann of Mooresville and Dale A. (Lydia) Herrmann of Largo, Florida; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Cocoa. He was preceded in death by: his parents and a sister, Mary Strait. The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Decatur County Animal Shelter or to the American Cancer Society.
