Elmer Paul Haste, 66 of Elizabethtown passed away at 1:23 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at his residence. He was born January 21, 1953 in Greenfield, the son of James O. and Eliza A. (Clark) Haste. Elmer was born and raised in Greenfield, was a former resident of Columbus and has resided in Jennings County the past 5 years. He graduated from Greenfield High School and was a cab driver. He was a member of AA and attended the Cross Roads Community Church. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan. Elmer is survived by his companion, Linda Kennedy; a sister, Cindie L. Jackson and a brother, Michael Haste all of Elizabethtown. He was preceded in death by his parents. Following his wishes, Elmer will be cremated. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Springer Cemetery with Rev. Tracey McIntyre officiating. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the services. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Cross Roads Community Church.
