Marvin Stotts, 74, of Westport, passed away at 12:16 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Decatur County Community Hospital. He was born on February 2, 1945 in Paoli, the son of Paul and Pauline (Holland) Stotts. He was a 1963 graduate of Paoli High School and had been a Westport resident since 2012. Marvin was a veteran having served in the U.S. Airforce. He retired in 2003 from the Indiana National Guard and was in the Indiana Guard Reserve. He enjoyed collecting recipes, watching old movies, trivia and spending time with his grandchildren. He married Carmen Elaine Daugherty on March 17, 1964 in Paoli, and she preceded him in death on April 16, 1989. He married Nancy Ann Underhill on July 15, 1994 in Paoli, and she preceded him in death on June 11, 2019. Survivors include his daughter, Amber Ellard of Westport; step-sons, Christopher Ellard and Homer (Melissa) Ellard both of Westport; Robert Alspaugh of West Baden; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Stotts and daughter-in-law, Barbara Adkins. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Westport Cemetery with Military graveside rites. Pastor George Willette will be officiating. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
