Lynn Howard Clark, 79, of Westport passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020 at his residence. He was born on May 12, 1940 in Columbus, the son of Howard Clark & Dorothy (Bivens) Clark Barkes. He had lived most of his life in Columbus. Lynn was a firefighter for the Columbus Fire Department and retired as a Captain in 1985. He was also the recipient of the Firefighter of the Year award. He was a member of Amvets, American Legion, Eagles, the VFW in North Vernon, the exchange club of Columbus and was past president of the JNRU. He enjoyed gardening and goat farming. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Marines. Lynn married Maudie Marty (Willis) Clark on October 10, 1961 in Brentwood, California and she survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Lynn Clark and Estelle (Phillip) Baugher of Columbus, Robin (Derek) Ramp of Seymour, Angela Pratt of North Vernon; his sisters, Marilyn (Gene) Gross, Joyce Meyer and Sharon Weddle all of Columbus; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cathy Clark; brothers, Ray Clark, Donald Clark, Larry Clark; and grandsons, Avery Baugher and Stevie Krebbs. Due to the recent public health safety mandate of limited gatherings, a private funeral service for the family will be held on Wednesday at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
