Betty Marie (Evans) Welsh, 82, of Greensburg, passed away at 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. She was born July 3, 1936 in Greensburg, the daughter of Edgar & Elsie Evans. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1953. She married Raymond E. Welsh, Sr. on September 25, 1955 at the Sandcreek Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2013. She and her husband lived in Hope, Indiana for approximately 40 years, and had retired to Haines City, Florida. She was a member of the Kentucky Colonels, Athenians Camping Club, National Campers & Hikers Association, Red Hats Club and the Lunch Bunch. She enjoyed crafts, watching westerns, playing Bingo, camping, gardening and tending to her orchids. She is survived by her daughters, Teressa Hoy and Cindy Everroad both of Westfield, Indiana; son, Mark (Cindy) Welsh of Hilton Head, South Carolina; Connie Nagle of Charlotte, North Carolina, who adopted "our" family 30 years ago; brothers, Ted Evans of Shelbyville, John Evans, Wayne (Martha) Evans and Leslie (Linda) Evans all of Greensburg; six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Laura Piper and son, Raymond E. Welsh, Jr. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Harold Carter of Sandcreek Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
