Polly S. Parker McCreary, 80, of Greensburg, passed away at 6:57 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on April 16, 1938 in Greensburg, the daughter of Robert T. & Mary E. (Moore) Parker. She was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and graduated from Burney High School in 1956. She worked at the former Decatur County Bank and retired from Fifth Third Bank. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess, a member of Kitchen Cookies Home Extension Club and a member of the Women's Missionary Society. She enjoyed cooking and volunteering at nursing homes. She married Dick McCreary at Liberty Baptist Church on March 22, 1959 and he survives. Other survivors include her sons, Gary (Delores) McCreary and David McCreary both of Greensburg; sisters, Martha Tuttle of Columbus, Liz Reed and Barb Smiley both of Greensburg; grandchildren, Justin McCreary and Riley McCreary, both of Greensburg, Chase McCreary of Harker Heights, Texas; step-grandchildren, Todd (Marcy) Israel of Greensburg and Brandy (Shane) Johnson of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Howard Parker; sister, Cora Parker. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. David Blazier officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Liberty Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
