Donita Kay Schroeder, 77 of Hartsville, passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born on February 19, 1941 in Greensburg, the daughter of Andrew M. & Opal I. (Wolfe) Noe. She was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and attended Jackson Township High School. She was a member of Waynesburg Christian Church. She enjoyed her dogs, monthly dates with her sisters, and walking. She married Edward Joseph Schroeder, Jr. in 1972 in Greensburg and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2008. She is survived by daughters, Connie (John) Byrd of Milford and Crystal (G.W. Alexander) Wilder of Boulder, Montana; son, Guy "Randy" (Janice) Wright of Greensburg; stepson, Edward Joseph (Jan) Schroeder, III of Hamilton, Ohio; sisters, JoAnn (Marvin) Tichenor and Mary Lou (Norman) Garrett both of Greensburg; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; nephews, Allen & Chris Pearl. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. David Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Shirk Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Decatur County Animal Shelter.
