James David Green, 67 of Greensburg went to be with the Lord at 3:26 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his residence. He was born on July 7, 1951 in Greensburg, the son of James Willard and Virginia Maxine (Herndon) Green. James was a Decatur County resident the majority of his life and was a member of the Westport Methodist Church. He served in the US Marine Corps and enjoyed mechanical things. He is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Ann Green of North Vernon; son, Stephen Green of Greensburg; step sons, Dwayne Bode of Westport and Jeffery Bode of Butlerville; sisters, Jerry (Bernard) Diekhoff of Westport, Phyllis Ketrow of Fort Wayne and Carole Jean Green of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, John Richard Green of Davenport, Iowa; former wife, Sue Ann Bode Green of Greensburg; aunt, Louise McDaniel of Rushville; friends, Larry Coy and Andy Hunter both of Greensburg; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia J. Cruser and Karen Sue Green; 5 Nephews and a niece. Following his wished he will be cremated and a graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Westport Cemetery. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home & Crematory have been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
