Dorothy Inez Darling, 92, of Milroy, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Morning Breeze Healthcare Center in Greensburg. She was born on March 2, 1927 in Jeffersonville, Indiana the daughter of Rollin and Larue (Hayes) Thompson. She had moved from Columbia, Kentucky to Indiana, and had been a former resident of Greensburg, North Vernon and Columbus. She had been employed at the Dress Factory in Greensburg, Heritage House Nursing Home and Jennings Community Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and playing bingo. She married James Douglas Darling in Vernon, Indiana on October 18, 1993 and he survives. Other survivors include daughters, Linda (James) Kuhl of Scipio, Elizabeth Warner and Clara Bell Waldon both of Columbus, Alberta (Danny) Grimes of Milroy; sons, Omer (Karla) Goodin of Lebanon, Missouri and Glen (Elizabeth) Goodin of Scipio; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rhonda Mozingo; son, Ivan Goodin, Jr.; brothers, Owen Thompson and Coffer Thompson and a sister, Iona Anderson. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Mike Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
