Robert E. Johnson, 70, of Greensburg, passed away at 5:27 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 23, 1948 in Connersville, the son of Harry & Vivian (Cregar) Johnson. He was raised in Rushville and lived the majority of his life in Greensburg. He retired as the Assistant Street Commissioner from the Greensburg Street Department. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He married Joanne L. Wilson in Greensburg, on March 21, 1969. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2011. Survivors include daughters, Michelle Mennefee and Tamala Johnson both of Greensburg, Donna Johnson & Deanna Johnson of Maine; sons, Chris (Cheryl) Johnson and Doug Johnson both of Greensburg, Scott (Jenny) Johnson and Ryan (Carrie) Johnson both of Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom Johnson and Danny Johnson and sister, Jeananne Springman. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Carmelo Veles. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
