Rosemary Maddux, 93, of Westport, passed away at 7:22 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Aspen Place Health Campus. She was born on October 18, 1925 in Westport, the daughter of William Stanley & Clara Pearl (Davis) Maddux. She was born and raised in Westport and was a 1943 graduate of Sandcreek High School. She received a Bachelor of Theology Degree from Frankfort Pilgrim College in 1950. She graduated in 1955 from Marion College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master's Degree in 1965 through Indiana University. She was a missionary in Zambia, Africa from 1957 to 1988 with one year of deputation from 1988 to 1989. She was a member of the Westport Wesleyan Church, and a former member of the choir and Missionary Society at Brooksville Wesleyan Church in Florida for 15 years. Survivors include her sisters, Lois Holzhause, Harriet Cruser both of Westport, Bonnie Sims of Greensburg, Barbara Faidley of Indianapolis, Rachel Brophy of Muncie; brother, David Maddux of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert D. Maddux, Joseph Maddux and sister, Margaret C. McCullough. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Westport Wesleyan Church with Rev. Glenn Black & Rev. Paul Hornberger officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesleyan Church-Global Partners or the Westport Wesleyan Church through the funeral home.
