John Krom, 89, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, passed away on January 22, 2019. He was born on April 15, 1929 in Westport, the son of Lee and Eva Krom. John was a proud United States Air Force veteran. Following his service, he attended trade school for Electrical Engineering. He worked for Indianapolis Public Schools as Chief Engineer of Telecommunications. John also taught Broadcasting at Butler University one night a week for over 20 years and received an honorary master's degree from Butler. John married Janice Meredith on June 20, 1949 and enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. They moved to Arizona in 2005 then lost the love of his life in 2010. He enjoyed motorcycling, flying, amateur radio, reading and watching old westerns. He was also a member of Gideon's International. John leaves behind a legacy of faith in God, hard work and offering a helping hand to his friends and neighbors. John is survived by sons Reid, Robert (Janet), Darrell; daughter, Sherryl Pittman (Rod); four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John is preceded in death by parents Lee and Eva Krom, grandchildren Joseph and Alaina Pittman and wife Janice. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
